 Aito BV, a leading provider of piezo touch user interface technology, has raised $1.2 million in venture capital by issuing new shares. The investment closing was lead by Inkef Capital, which provides long term capital and business advice to promising companies in the Netherlands. The raised capital will enable Aito to continue building on its strong technology platform as well as improve further on sales and customer support.

Aito is a Dutch product company with headquarters in Zaanstad, the Netherlands and a product development subsidiary in Espoo, Finland. The company’s piezo touch buttons are applicable for every possible use, be it e.g. kitchen apparatus, medical equipment or simple light switches. The technology’s leading edge lies in numerous design and functionality features. Aito, which is working together with several major electronic companies, is looking forward to release a plentiful of sleek touch user interface applications in the near future.

Rene de Vries, CEO of Aito, said: “We are obviously very excited about closing such a significant partnership with Inkef. This enables us to further accelerate our development projects and our customer base.  On wednesday the 1st of december 2010 Applied Piezo chairman Jan Peters presented the first copy of a new Applied Piezo book to the director of the Mikrocentrum Geert Hellings. The book "The hidden use of piezo technology in applications all around us" was written to show the everyday use of piezo applications and the importance of further development of this technology as supported by the Applied Piezo foundation. Geert Hellings and the Mikrocentrum were one of the first organizations supporting Applied Piezo at the start 6 years ago.
